Mainframe Developer (ISPW + CICD + XL Release)

Job Summary: As a Mainframe Developer at Wellfounded, you will play a pivotal role in the development, deployment, and maintenance of mainframe applications. Leveraging your expertise in ISPW, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD), and XL Release, you will contribute to the enhancement and optimization of our software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mainframe technologies, coupled with a proactive mindset towards implementing efficient release management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and design solutions for mainframe applications.
• Utilize ISPW for version control, code management, and promotion of artifacts across environments.
• Develop and implement automated CICD pipelines for mainframe applications, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.
• Configure and maintain XL Release for orchestrating release pipelines and managing dependencies between release components.
• Troubleshoot issues related to mainframe development, deployment, and integration within the CICD pipeline.
• Conduct code reviews, performance analysis, and optimization to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in mainframe development and CICD methodologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive process improvements and optimize the efficiency of the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer with expertise in ISPW, CICD, and XL Release.
• Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
• Hands-on experience in implementing CICD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, and Ansible.
• Familiarity with XL Release or similar release management tools for coordinating complex release processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and adapt to evolving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Certification in mainframe technologies or CICD tools.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting for automation tasks.
